Toni Pons

Toni Pons was founded in 1946 by Antoni Pons Parramon as a basic shoe factory typical for that time. The shoes were produced in the traditional way in a small factory in Osor, a small village near Girona. Espadrilles made with jute or rubber and leather boots were the first products made under the brand Toni Pons. At that time, the basic espadrilles were mainly worn as work shoes in the countryside.

At the age of 18, Antoni Pons i Carós, with all the necessary work experience and a study behind him, joined the organization. His vision was to extend the reach of the brand into an international brand. Until then, Toni Poins was a purely local brand.

The accession of Antoni Pons i Carós to the company was also the moment that Toni Pons moved its headquarters to the city of Girona. The logistical advantages of this new location were the reason to come to this decision.

The year 1991 was the key year for the internationalization of the Toni Pons brand. The company took the step to enter the French market. And with success. The French consumer was quickly enthusiastic, and the brand was immediately widely accepted. It is a market that highly appreciates espadrilles as summer shoes with their distinctive craft aspect.

In 2016, Toni Pons celebrates its 70th anniversary and the company decides to update the brand from head to toe. From a renewed design of the logo to the restructuring of the collection, which from now on will be divided into several collections, each with its own specific personality. Think of the Origens, Essencial and Premoim. In addition, the company is launching several flagship stores in important commercial areas in different cities: Barcelona, Madrid and Sitges.
