In Paris, in the winter of 2015, Bastien and Emilien decided to create Cabaïa, a brand with colourful and smart backpacks and bags. Cabaïa has been in France since 2016 with several pop-up stores and for several years Cabaïa products have also been crossing French borders.

Cabaïa wants to add a daily dose of happiness to the daily lives of as many people as possible by producing colourful and stylish backpacks and bags in a sustainable way. Sustainable bags and backpacks

Cabaïa designs and produces fashionable bags and backpacks that are sustainable and environmentally friendly. Since 2020, Cabaïa has decided to completely stop using single-use plastic. At Cabaïa they are always working to offer more and more products made from recycled and environmentally friendly materials. So not only the packaging and shipping materials are replaced with plant-based materials, but also the bags and backpacks themselves follow Cabaïa's upcycling philosophy. Furthermore, Cabaïa is OEKO-TEX Standard 100, REACH and EVE VEGAN certified. This way, they not only guarantee the quality of their bags and backpacks, but also do their bit for the environment.

Upcycling

What is upcycling? Upcycling is recycling, but in a better way. For Cabaïa, it's like seeing one of their future bags in an empty plastic bottle. It is a commitment to more conscious fashion. In short, it is proof that they can be stylish and green at the same time. Upcycling is the recovery of materials or products that are no longer used, in order to transform them into products of higher quality or with better usability. In other words, it is a top-down approach to recycling.

At Cabaïa they are convinced that nothing is lost, everything is transformed. That is why they are increasingly integrating upcycling into the heart of their practices. Also, the upcycled materials that Cabaïa uses are GRS certified. It is proof that they are indeed recycled materials, manufactured with respect for the environment and the rights of workers. When others see a simple plastic bottle, Cabaïa sees their future bags and backpacks. Cabaïa is currently working on a range of 100% upcycled bags made from plastic bottles. The inside and outside of the bags and backpacks will be made of bottles for daily use. The inside of all bags and backpacks in Cabaïa's collection is already made of this material.
