Reliable shoes

In the 1850s, the forerunners of Blundstone began supplying suitable shoes for the inhabitants of the fledgling colony. In 1870, the Blundstone company was officially incorporated, and that's also when the first factory opened. From the beginning, Blundstone boots were known as reliable shoes you could rely on no matter how hard you worked or what your life looked like. They were put to the test not only by city workers, but also by farmers and factory workers. Because Blundstone was not satisfied with just taking care of workers' feet, Blundstone eventually made baby slippers, children's school shoes and women's boots.

Blundstone was commissioned to supply boots to the Australian Army in World War II. More than 500,000 pairs of military-grade boots were made for Australian troops. After the war, they began designing new styles of boots, expanding the range to meet changing industries and lifestyles. They produced boots for smelter workers, forestry workers and even the Australian Football League. To top it off, Blundstone boots reached all the way to Mount Everest when the first Australian Everest expedition team chose Blundstones to make their way through the Himalayas.
