The Espadrilles are very light summer shoes, made of linen or cotton. They have their origins in Spain and the South of France, but are very widespread worldwide today. They are worn by both women and men.

In their current form, espadrilles are often combined to summery outfits. The sole of the newer models is usually additionally covered with a thin rubber sole to make them waterproof. The rest is still made exclusively of linen or cotton. This makes the shoe beautifully breathable and air-permeable. This makes it a popular companion especially on hot summer days.
