Bamboo Basics

Bamboo Basics stands for sustainability and socially responsible production. Their bamboo underwear feels silky soft and is therefore wonderful to wear. But there are more reasons to choose Bamboo Basics. The fabric is breathable and absorbs up to 7 times more moisture than cotton. This prevents unpleasant odours and ensures a fresh feeling all day long. The bamboo underwear from Bamboo Basics is offered at a fair price, making sustainability accessible for everyone.

Under the motto; 'Together you can achieve more', the brand challenges you to take responsibility and make a difference. Together we reduce the polluting impact on the environment. By using the raw material bamboo, they strive for a more sustainable world. The use of bamboo textiles saves water, as bamboo absorbs natural rainfall and reduces evaporation. Compared to traditional textiles, the production of bamboo textiles is 80% less harmful to the environment. Time for a change!

Sustainable production

Bamboo Basics uses bamboo from FSC certified plantations. The Forest Stewardship Council is an international organisation committed to conservation and responsible forest management worldwide. The brand is also OEKO-TEX 100 certified. This means that their products do not contain any harmful substances for people and the environment.

To make bamboo yarn, 2 types of chemicals are needed in the process. These do not end up in the environment because they use Tanboocel. They use a circular process in which 100% of the chemicals used are collected and recycled. To make their products stronger and give them a longer lifespan, Bamboo Basics uses a part (28%) of organic cotton. Bamboo naturally needs sun and rain water to grow. Cotton needs to be irrigated. To produce 1 kg of cotton, a total of 10,000 litres of water is needed. In comparison, producing 1 kg of Bamboo Basics saves over 7,000 kg of water. By its very nature, bamboo does not need insecticides or pesticides to grow. In contrast, cotton is responsible for as much as 11% of all pesticides and 25% of all insecticides used globally every year.

To ensure Bamboo Basics' values and standards, the brand has drawn up a Code of Conduct. It describes, among other things, the safety of the working environment, payment of fair wages, no child labour, freedom of association and hygiene control.
