A Beautiful Story

A Beautiful Story has its roots in a small fair trade silver factory in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal. Twenty silversmiths worked in the factory to make jewelry and were eager to share these creations with the rest of the world. These silversmiths were all craftsmen who fully devoted their passion to making the most beautiful jewelry. The product of A Beautiful Story are therefore all produced fair trade.

Dambar was the owner of the Kathmandu factory and was keen to reach out to more customers to promote this products. Dambar knew the Dutch Cathelijne Lania from the time she volunteered in Nepal. She was already working in the Netherlands again. She had been thinking for some time that she wanted to do more for the world. When Dambar's message reached her, she didn't have to think twice and got on the plane.

Not much later, the A Beautiful Story brand was born. With the silversmiths, Dambar and Cathelijne looked into whether they could create products with a special message, with which the silver factory could also enter new markets. Through contact with the men of the silver factory, she also came into contact with a group of women. After this 'women's empowerment' A Beautiful Story came to The Netherlands with the jewelry that was known at the time.

Cathelijne and Dambar created different jewelery collections with different materials. The jewelry is made with traditional basting and crochet techniques by men from the silversmith factory and a group of women who call themselves Beads for Life. Each pice of jewelry is a unique item with its own story. This jewelry is therefore very suitable to give as a gift to a loved one.
